Carbon + Magnesium
Velbon Sherpa PRO Professional series tripods

Legs constructed from carbon fibre and body consists of magnesium.

VELBON’s ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Velbon’s newest manufacturing facility in China has obtained the highly respected ISO 14001 international environmental certification.

Carbon Fibre
Carbon composite materials are finished in Japan, these are constructed from tube-sections with patented inner-ridge structures for extra strength, which are themselves produced in France.
Today, carbon composites are at the centre of material advances in the aircraft and car industries worldwide. Velbon first employed composites as far back as 1993.

Magnesium
Velbon was the first to introduce Magnesium alloys into the tripod industry. This lightwieght, but rigid material enabled Velbon to make their tripods even lighter when combining with Carbon fibre legs.

Aluminum
Velbon always choose a high ratio of Virgin materials with Aluminum, as well as special plastics to maintain high quality and durability for long term usage.  Aluminum is a traditional material used to make tripods tough and rigid.  Velbon uses innovative ideas to make their Aluminum tripods lightweight and many are compact enough for traveling with.

  • Sherpa PRO Series tripods feature Velbons unique 'Inner Jut Pipe' system. This makes the legs more sturdy and stops them from rotating when the locking nuts are tightened or loosened.

  • Sherpa PRO tripods remain very sturdy, even when used at their maximum height 173 cm, 190 cm respectively.

  • Each leg is individually adjustable, enabling your tripod to achieve its ideal position, even on difficult terrain.

  • By removing the splittable centre column, the legs can be opened to their maximim spread, allowing you to shoot at ultra low angles.
Minimum height can be achieved by splitting the centre column.
